Day 55: Andahuaylas to Ayacucho – Another (Endless) Incredible Ride

OUCH! When I woke up this morning every single part of my body hurt and reminded me that riding a motorbike can also be a sport. 8 hours of riding extremely demanding mountain roads were taking its toll and I wished at this moment to have had a nice hot bath or even better, a massage.

Instead, I was getting myself ready for another long ride, not upset but even looking forward to another painful next morning. And I was so right, lol.

The road was taking me again through endless curves along the Peruvian mountains finally bridging a long stretch of plateau. I was glad to have had some straight roads ahead since I was really getting tired of the narrow curves even though I had a lot of fun. Especially, the landscape which consisted of yellow coloured kind of straw and the amazingly blue sky and its white clouds in the background were hypnotising me. Simply breathtaking and I enjoyed every single meter on the road, stopping from time to time to enjoy the loneliness and the atmosphere high up the Andes.

Arriving in the small town of Ayacucho, I spent the rest of the day and evening in a nice restaurant overlooking the beautiful Spanish colonial style square with its many local people, having delicious food and some cerveza.
