Day 67 & 68: Guayaquil – The Gateway to Galapagos
Arriving in Guayaquil I did not know what to expect but to simply meet my friend Chris and to take the flight to the unique Galapagos islands the day after. Guayaquil is apparently the “New York” of Ecuador, the country’s engine of commerce (this is what I thought before going to Galapagos, lol).
Day 66: The Third Bordercrossing “Challenge” – Huaquillas Ecuador
This time the challenge was not to deal with the bureaucracy of the border patrol or corrupt officers but with a mean food poisoning from the day before in Mancora. I should not have had the fried calamari’s even though they were delicious at the time.
Overlanding The Americas – Itinerary
I started my trip in Sao Paulo where I bought a BMW 700 GS and all equipment needed to overland the Americas. Besides enjoying the typical stereotypes of Brazil, I also made the painful experience in dealing with the local bureaucracy. I traveled South to Curitiba to
